Cristiano Ronaldo is set to make more history in world football. The Portuguese star has taken another step toward one of the most extraordinary records of his career, that of 1,000 official goals, after scoring a hat-trick in Al-Nassr’s 5-3 win over Al Kholood in the Saudi league.
At 41 years old, Ronaldo has once again shown that he remains a goalscoring machine. The Portuguese striker needed just 15 minutes in the second half to score three goals, finding the net in the 66th, 72nd and 81st minutes. CR7 even had the chance to finish the match with five goals, but two other strikes were disallowed.
With this hat-trick, Ronaldo has raised his official career tally with clubs and the Portugal national team to 985. He is now just 15 goals away from the historic mark of 1,000, a target he has openly spoken about for years.
His goals are spread across six teams: 450 with Real Madrid, 146 with Portugal, 145 with Manchester United, 138 with Al-Nassr, 101 with Juventus and 5 with Sporting Lisbon. Meanwhile, his great rival, Lionel Messi, has 936 career goals, making him the closest active follower of the Portuguese player.
Ronaldo has also enjoyed a successful period in Saudi Arabia, where he won the league’s Golden Boot twice in a row, in the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons. With 985 goals to his name, the Portuguese legend is just 15 steps away from a record that could forever enter the history of football.
