A serious incident is reported to have involved Mounir Nasraoui, the father of Barcelona footballer Lamine Yamal, at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat airport, shortly before his departure for London, where the ceremony for the Golden Boy award was to be held. At that edition, the Spanish talent was ranked third.
According to the Spanish newspaper El Español, Nasraoui was in an airport café when a staff member asked him to remove a jacket placed in an area where leaving personal belongings is not allowed.
According to the report, this request led to an immediate escalation of the situation. Nasraoui is alleged to have responded with serious insults toward the employee and then spat in her face.
The situation reportedly became even more tense, requiring the urgent intervention of Spanish Guardia Civil officers and those present.
According to the same source, Nasraoui attempted to throw a chair at people who were trying to calm him down, but their intervention prevented the conflict from escalating further. The incident occurred before he boarded the flight to England.
This is not the first time the name of the Spanish footballer’s father has appeared in media reports. In August 2024, Nasraoui was stabbed in Mataró, in an incident widely reported by Spanish media.
Also, according to previous reports, in May 2023 he was convicted of an assault on an electoral stand.
