Albania lifts visa regime for Kuwaiti citizens
Albania has taken the decision to lift visa regime for citizens of the State of Kuwait and United Arab Emirates, Albanian ambassador to Kuwait Kujtim Morina announced in a press release Monday.
This decision will enter into force in a few days after it is published in his country's official gazette.
As a result, Kuwaiti citizens can travel to Albania with only their passports; they can stay in Albania up to 90 days within a period of six months.
This decision came following an official visit of the Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama to Kuwait on November 18-20, 2014, which marked a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
Free movement of citizens helps increasing trade exchanges and visits from citizens of both countries, especially in tourism which Albania enjoys because of its convenient geographic position with a 400 km coastline and many UNESCO heritage sites, the Albanian ambassador said.
He added "We believe that the decision of lifting visa regime for Kuwaiti citizens for the whole year will encourage Kuwaiti investors to operate in Albania which has a very favorable business environment." Many Kuwaiti business companies have expressed their interest to do business in Albania and have visited the country to make their own assessments, Morina further said.
He pointed out that his country gives investment priorities in the fields of renewable energy, mining industry, tourism, manufacturing and agricultur
