EU and US ambassadors in Gruevski’s office for Kumanova
EU and US diplomats in Skopje met with the Macedonian Prime Minister, Nikolla Gruevski, to discuss the Kumanova events and the issue of surveillance tapes published by the opposition.
Top Channel’s correspondent in Skopje, Rijad Murati, declared in a phone conversation that in this meeting there were the Ambassadors of the USA, France, Italy, Belgium, Germany and the EU.
The US Ambassador declared that the USA and other countries are ready to help Macedonia with the Kumanova vents if they need it. He invited the citizens to stay calm.
As regards the surveillance matter, diplomats have criticized the lack of actions by the government for their accusations. Western diplomats say this increases the questions on the government’s ability to respect the law.
The Ambassadors say they support the citizens’ right to protest, but violence should be avoided in these protests by both sides.
