Tadic: Rama made a mistake when he mentioned Kosovo in Belgrade
Former Serbian President Boris Tadic said that Albanians and Serbs must engage together to find a common solution for Kosovo and that this solution would be welcomed by the international community.
"We have common interests. You have a wonderful coastline in Albania and energy potential. I am sorry that I have not managed to convince more Serbian investors to invest in Albania. Kosovo is also an important market for Serbia and vice versa. There are many people who have given so much to the Serbian culture. Serbia has helped the construction of the University of Prishtina. But also people like Bekim Fehmiu, Mr. Petrovci and from this period I know Edi Rama, who is a precious Albanian artist"said Tadic. Tadic also mentioned his policies when he was in charge of the Serbian state.
"I led Serbia after the assassination of Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic, which was not only security challenge but also of values. The country lost credibility. The first four years the government belonged to the opposing party like Vojislav Kostunica. The second mandate was about economic crisis and declaration of independence that destabilized the country. But, we made the policy of reconciliation with Albanians, Bosnians and Croats in the region. I have apologized and other have apologized to me. We must put behind what has happened and the German – French model for Serbs and Albanians is appropriate ", added Tadic.
Commenting on Edi Rama, he said that he has respect for him, but it would have been better not to mention Kosovo in Belgrade. Tadic estimated that his visit to the capital of Serbia has opened a new stage of Albanian-Serb relations.
