Vucic will visit Albania by the end of May

Alexandar Vucic will visit Tirana by the end of May, a prime ministerial meeting between the member countries of the Southeastern European Cooperation Process, an initiative led by Albania.

The news was given by the Voice of America, which says that the visit has been confirmed by diplomatic sources in Tirana. The Serbian media say that the visit has also been confirmed by the Serbian Prime Minister.

Vucic declared that he has accepted the invitation for participating in an economic forum that will be held on May 27-th and 28th, according to the Voice of America.

Despite the tension created after the football match between Albania and Serbia, the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, attended a historic visit in Belgrade on November 2014, the first of this genre after 60 years.

In that meeting, the Albanian Prime Minister invited his Serbian counterpart to Tirana.

“I invited the Serbian Prime Minister to visit Albania, trusting that we will not wait 68 other years for the next meeting. I am convinced that we should not wait for the next Balkan conference to hear about the same things. We need to go with a balance of joint works”, Rama declared after his visit in Belgrade.

Both countries have signed several agreements in the past month. In January, with an initiative of Italy for encouraging dialogue between both countries, the Foreign Ministers of Albania and Serbia met in the Italian capital.
