An incident was recorded on Tuesday afternoon at the Kuçova Air Base, where a serviceman was wounded by his service weapon while on duty.
The incident occurred around 4:46 p.m. The serviceman, identified by the initials E.D., sustained a wound to the shoulder, and was given first aid immediately after the incident.
The soldier was initially transported to the Regional Hospital of Berat, where he received medical care. According to the Ministry of Defense, his condition is stable, with vital signs within normal range and no risk to his life.
Due to the need for further treatment, the serviceman was taken to the University Trauma Hospital in Tirana.
Military Police have begun on-site inspections to document the incident and determine the circumstances in which the injury occurred.
