Defence Minister Ermal Nufi, in an interview with “POLITICO Europe”, stressed the need to strengthen cooperation among NATO member states to confront hybrid threats, disinformation and malicious campaigns in the digital space. Nufi pointed out that these threats aim to undermine public trust, incite division and weaken the resilience of democratic societies.
The minister also underlined the need for a more active NATO, with coordinated mechanisms, specialised expertise and rapid response teams in support of member states. According to the Ministry of Defence, for Albania, security is not limited only to protecting territory, but also includes protecting institutions, citizens and our information space.
“Faced with new challenges, our country remains committed to a stronger, better prepared and more united Alliance, where the security of each country is part of common security,” the Ministry of Defence emphasised.
