Following the return to the winter schedule on the Greek side, the service at the Qafë Botë border crossing, which has been in effect since Monday, will operate from 07:00 to 21:00 Albanian time and from 08:00 to 22:00 Greek time.
The change in operating hours affects travelers and vehicles using this crossing to pass the border between Albania and Greece, in both directions.
The Greek customs post at Mavromati thus returns to a more limited service schedule, after its extension during the summer season.
In May 2026, the schedule had been extended by two hours, running from 05:00 in the morning to 23:00 in the evening Albanian time, or from 06:00 to 24:00 Greek time. The extension in May was made on the eve of increased traffic during the summer.
With the return to the winter schedule, the operating time at the Qafë Botë border crossing is reduced by four hours per day: the opening is two hours later and the closing two hours earlier compared with the summer schedule.
So, under the new winter schedule, citizens planning to travel through Qafë Botë to Greece should keep in mind the 07:00-21:00 Albanian time window, in order to avoid arriving at the border outside service hours.
