Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted after the European Commission published its Annual Progress Report, describing the assessment of Albania as the highest it has ever achieved. In a post on the X platform, Rama considered the report another moment of pride for Albania and an encouraging proof on the path toward EU membership. The Annual Progress Report has come out. Albania is rated higher than ever before.
Another moment of pride for European Albania.
Another meaningful and encouraging report card from the European Commission.
Another step forward toward the historic goal of uniting with Europe.
But the tasks ahead of us are still many, while the time of the tight negotiation calendar is getting ever shorter.
And this assessment does not make the everyday problems of the country any smaller or less urgent, which have had, have and will have all my attention, the government’s, and the parliamentary majority’s. On the contrary, the high assessment in today’s report motivates us to do even more and to do things even better.
The moment is optimal. The EU door is open and the possibility of entry is more real than ever. History would never forgive us for drowning in the cup of stale water of the quarrels, grudges and petty squabbles that have constantly prevented Albania from rising to the height of its potential.
Heads up and forward, Albania.
