Search and rescue operations at the building collapsed by the powerful explosion in Elbasan are still ongoing, in an effort to find 69-year-old Hamit Ibro, who is suspected to be under the rubble.
Commander of the Civil Emergency and Support Base, Colonel Hajdar Gurra, has also arrived at the scene and announced that the intervention is taking place in extremely difficult conditions and with high danger for the rescue teams.
According to him, two search and rescue teams with a total of 16 people and their equipment have been engaged in the operation. Despite the difficulties, the search will continue until completion, while guaranteeing the safety of personnel.
Signals received from thermal cameras have dimmed hopes of finding the 69-year-old alive. “There is very little chance that 69-year-old Hamit Ibro will be found alive,” Gurra stated.
