Seven students of the “Hajredin Beqari” unified school in Selenicë have reported the physical education teacher to the police, accusing him of sexual harassment on school premises. Vlora Police have taken into custody 35-year-old Albano Ameti, who had been part of the school’s teaching staff for about two months.
The students who reported the case are between 14 and 17 years old. Meanwhile, during on-the-ground reporting in Selenicë, students of the “Hajredin Beqari” school said they had heard about the allegations raised against the teacher.
Some of them said that last evening they went to the Vlora Police premises, where they were questioned by the investigative team regarding this incident. Parents of the students also say they have heard claims about the teacher’s inappropriate behavior toward the girls, including harassment and physical contact.
Meanwhile, his colleague, teacher Dritan Gargaj, who says he has known him for about two months, says he does not believe that he could have committed such acts. Vlora Police are continuing the investigation to document and fully clarify the circumstances of the incident, while questioning students and other persons who may have knowledge of the case.
