Severe weather conditions are causing difficulties in holding the midterm elections in the United States. Flooding in Florida has forced authorities to urgently relocate 18 polling stations across seven counties, just 45 minutes before they were due to open.
Problems have also been reported in other states. In Arizona, several polling stations were temporarily closed, while in San Juan County, Utah, voters were given the option to request and submit their ballots electronically.
Meanwhile, a polling station in Colorado has been relocated, while rainfall has also affected Iowa, Kansas and Texas.
Weather forecasts indicate that the unsettled weather will continue throughout the day, with storms in some states, strong winds and the possibility of short-lived tornadoes in certain areas.
