Taulant Balla, head of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, commented on “Koha Jonë-Debat” on some of the main figures of Albanian politics, sharing his assessments and his relationships with each of them.
Lesi: Gramoz Ruçi!
Balla: He is one of the people closest to me, in terms of my political career and beyond, and I am fortunate that even today we are very good friends. We meet very often and talk very often, but it is a great advantage to have worked, and to be working, with Gramoz Ruçi and to be his friend.
Lesi: Fatos Nano!
Balla: He remains my leader, in the sense that he is the person I first worked with. In a few days we will commemorate the anniversary of his passing, with the people closest to him, and I think he made a very valuable contribution during the period he served Albania and the PS, to everything the PS is today.
Lesi: Dritëro Agolli!
Balla: The patriarch of the Socialist Party.
Lesi: Anastas Angjeli!
Balla: A professor, a special friend, and a person you can always count on to meet and receive advice from.
Lesi: Kastriot Islami!
Balla: To be honest, I don’t know where Kastrioti stands! I haven’t spoken for a while.
Lesi: Arta Dade!
Balla: A very good sister-in-law, I like her very much.
Lesi: Ditmir Bushati!
Balla: I worked with Ditmir, I wish he knew he owes the Socialist Party.
Lesi: Mimi Kodheli.
Balla: She remains a good, strong woman who served as an excellent Minister of Defence. Above all, a very good friend.
Lesi: Elisa Spiropali!
Balla: I have Elisa as a colleague, and the advice I have always given Elisa is: in politics everyone makes a certain contribution, and you must always know never to harm that political contribution.
Lesi: Erion Veliaj!
Balla: Erion Veliaj, I have him as a friend, I have him as a companion. He has done an excellent job both as a minister and as mayor of Tirana. I wish that he win this wave in his life, the confrontation with justice.
Lesi: Erion Braçe.
Balla: My best friend.
Lesi: Fatmir Xhafaj!
Balla: One of the people from whom, in these 22 years together, I have been fortunate to learn many things.
Lesi: Pandeli Majko!
Balla: I meet with Pandi, and it is still time for him to contribute, and he is one of those people whose word I listen to.
Lesi: Edi Rama!
Balla: Edi Rama is one of those people who has brought a transformation to Albania in many areas, not only as prime minister. And we in Elbasan have a saying, “rrube”, and there has been one person in 100 years who raised Albania’s rruba (prestige), and no one else has done more than Edi Rama.
