As head of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha has reaffirmed the opposition’s determination to continue protests against the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama, describing civic resistance as one of the main pillars of the Democrats’ political campaign. During a meeting with working groups from the Tirana district, Berisha focused on organizing the protests, the engagement of young people, and the need to turn their energy into a sustainable political movement.
“The youth outburst must not go to waste. We will not give up on the protests, because the protest is ours”, said Berisha, calling on party structures to keep the mobilization alive and intensify their engagement on the ground.
Beyond the protests, Berisha asked the Democratic Party to also focus on the upcoming local elections. He stressed the importance of organizing structures at every level, strengthening the electoral base, and increasing the party’s presence across the entire territory.
Another important point of the discussions was cooperation with other political and social forces that oppose the current government. According to Berisha, the opposition must overcome divisions and build a common front.
“We hope to raise a common front in the interest of the country”, he said. The meeting at the blue headquarters comes at a time when the Democratic Party aims to combine the protests with electoral preparations, while seeking to expand civic support and consolidate structures for the upcoming political battle.
