Democratic Party MPs appeared today in parliamentary committees, but maintained the same stance against the normal functioning of work, leaving the meetings.
The Democrats condemned the violence exercised against citizens during the protest and asked the Prosecutor’s Office to investigate the entire chain of command of the State Police. According to them, under these conditions there cannot be parliamentary normality.
During the meeting of the Committee on Legal Affairs, Democratic MP Oerd Bylykbashi accused the Police of using arrests and detentions as intimidation tools to prevent citizens from taking part in gatherings.
“Today, the Prosecutor’s Office should have begun investigating the entire chain of command of the State Police. This will not pass without consequences. Everyone will answer one by one, at the cost of the complete purging of these individuals who use violence, as in the time of the communist ‘sambistas’,” Bylykbashi declared.
On the other hand, Socialist MP Ulsi Manja responded to the opposition’s accusations, stating that the Democratic Party headquarters is a headquarters of violence.
“We have a lifetime of dealing with that headquarters. Citizens do not expect that headquarters to cry over their troubles,” Manja said.
