On Saturday, at the national student protest outside the Ministry of Education, Democratic Party (PD) MPs were not admitted by the students themselves. But the head of the PD parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, says it was not the students who refused them, but only a group of individuals used by Prime Minister Edi Rama.
”If you identify me with those who were shouting in some of their statuses as students, I withdraw. A person who is 60 years old and whom you interview, there is no need for me to say he was a student.
One who was shouting the loudest was a 60-year-old person, another who was shouting just as loudly is a well-known activist whose value is equal to a candidate from number 38 on our Tirana list across all of Albania. A young man who had suffered police violence clearly said that whoever demands the exclusion of MPs, who have a duty to protect citizens.
We are not here to take center stage at the student protest. There were 10 people aiming to divide the protest and to prevent it from reaching the numbers and flow that there were last Saturday. We called for support of the national protest called by the students. Apparently that unity of last Saturday has worried Edi Rama, who uses 10 individuals who shout against the opposition”, he told ”News 24”.
