Socialist Party MP Pirro Vengu has responded to acts of violence on the streets of the capital, accusing their organizers of not being citizens committed to public causes, but people driven by political interests.
In his reaction, Vengu also criticizes what he describes as the hypocrisy of a part of the digital elite, which, in his view, is trying to criminalize reactions against violence, while remaining silent about attacks on institutions and historic buildings.
He mentions the Puppet Theatre, the Dajti Hotel, the Assembly and the historic buildings of the ministries, pointing out the contrast between reactions to defending cultural heritage and silence about damage to these structures during clashes. “Even the state is heritage!” Vengu wrote, calling on those who support the protection of cultural heritage to clearly condemn violence against institutions, monuments and historic buildings.

Today it became clear that behind the violence on the streets of the capital are not citizens with a cause, but people supplied from party headquarters and elsewhere, who believe power is taken by burning the state.
Meanwhile, under the false glitter of social networks, the unelected digital elite is trying to criminalize public reaction against violence. Howling hypocrisy!
Those who defended the Theatre with a slingshot in the name of heritage today incite and “like” attacks on the Puppet Theatre, the Dajti Hotel, the Assembly and the historic buildings of the ministries. They grieve over the cobblestones when the state removes them. When the crowd tears them up to hit police officers, they fall silent.
Does heritage have value only when it serves to accuse the government? Or when the crowd violates it, does it cease to be heritage?
The state is heritage too! Whoever has made the protection of heritage their cause, let them say it clearly: stop the desecration of institutions, monuments and historic buildings!
We will not wait for the end of your silence to protect public order.
