Democratic Party MP Tomor Alizoti has commented on the new wiretaps of Ergys Agasi. In those recordings, Agasi, during a conversation with two Israelis, says among other things that the head of the State Intelligence Service, Vlora Hyseni, is a close friend of his. Alizoti made these statements on the show Zonë e Lirë.
He said that what is heard in the recordings is terrible and shows that the state has been brought to its knees. Alizoti stressed that such a situation in a state amounts to a disgrace.
He described as unacceptable that the head of the institution most important for keeping secrets should be under the influence of a powerful person. He pointed out that secret service systems were serious even during the dictatorship. Now, matters that should have remained highly classified are being discussed openly in television studios.
According to him, this shows that banality is emerging in the country’s most important institution for secrets. He described this as the decline of the state. Alizoti added that if the head of the secret service falls under the influence of a powerful person, the consequences for a state are severe.
He called it terrible that the head of the secret service can be captured by a powerful individual. He underlined that this should not happen in a normal state. The Democratic MP reiterated that what should have been top secret is being discussed publicly.
