Aleksandar Vučić has conceded defeat in Serbia’s parliamentary elections this Sunday, declaring that victory belongs to the student blockade list, which according to preliminary estimates is expected to secure a majority of seats in parliament.
Although the final results have not yet been published, Vučić said that data based on a stratified sample show the student list has the lead.
“It is clear that we have lost these elections,” he stated, adding that the student list is expected to win between 135 and 140 seats, while his political party is expected to win around 105.
Vučić also warned that the results may surprise public opinion, criticizing the reporting and claims made during the electoral process.
“Many people will be surprised, and you will understand how much some have lied and what they have invented,” the Serbian president said.
