Arsenal faces a serious threat from Germany over the future of captain Martin Odegaard. At a time when the London club is negotiating a contract renewal with the Norwegian midfielder, Bayern Munich has entered the frame, having shown interest in securing his services.
According to reporting by “Sky Sport Deutschland”, the Bavarian club’s leadership has long rated the 27-year-old and has maintained ongoing contacts with his representatives. Moreover, Odegaard would not be indifferent to Bayern’s interest, since, although he feels good at Arsenal, he can imagine himself in the future wearing the shirt of the German giants.
The current contract of the “Gunners” captain is valid until 2028, but the leadership of the English club does not want to risk his future. The aim is for the parties to reach a new long-term agreement before the contractual situation becomes more complicated.
In fact, the most likely scenario remains a renewal, given that Odegaard is one of the key figures of the team led by Mikel Arteta.
Nevertheless, Bayern Munich’s interest has added to the concern in London. The good relations between the Bavarian leadership and the player’s representatives may give the German club an advantage.
