Local Election, Political leaders convey their messages

The voting process has already started by 7:00 of this morning and will be closed at 19:00.

The heads of political parties voted before midday.
Their appeal was for the citizens. They all invited the citizens to participate in the voting process.

The president of the republic of Albania called for a fair and smooth process.
The president said that the elections are being held 25 years after the fall of the communism, adding that the Albanians should use the freedom they have to choose their leaders.

“First of all, I want to wish for a smooth and fair process. Secondly, I want to highlight the fact that the elections coincide with the 25th anniversary of the fall of the communism system. We all remember that 25 years ago we did not have the freedom we have today. The citizens were obliged to stay in queues to vote for the only candidate who was previously determined to be the winner. Today, we have a real freedom, a big freedom and we should use this freedom in a right way”-said president Nishani.

The president conveyed also a direct message to the commissioners and to the vote counters:
“Based on my personal experience, I want to convey a gratitude message to the commissioners and vote counters all around the country. Today they are the judges, the managers of the will of the Albanian citizens. They have a great responsibility. Their work and their contribution for the democracy and the country is real. For this reason, I want to thank them for their commitment and I hope the citizens will respect their requests for the implementation of the law”-said the president.

PM Rama voted near his new house, in Surrel. He invited the citizens to vote.

“By voting you participate in an important and historical process, in the territorial reform. Regardless of who you vote for, those who vote deserve respect. Who does not vote is not entitled to complain later”-said PM Rama.

The DP chairman, Lulzim Basha voted in the unit 8. He invited the citizens to express their willpower.

“I invite the citizens to massively participate in the elections. Your vote, is your power, your judgment. Vote for your future and the future of your children. God bless Albania!”-said the DP chairman.
The head of the Socialist Movement for Integration, Ilir Meta conveyed this message for the citizens:.

“The vote of the every citizen should be respected. I call the citizens to distance from the incidents. We should all serve this process. “-said the SMI head, Ilir Meta.
The candidate of the left coalition for Tirana, Erion Veliaj said that every vote is valid and that the citizens should massively vote.
“The voting went good. I want to thank all the commissioners, regardless of the political parties. I want to welcome those who vote for the first time and call Tirana citizens to vote. What has been said in this campaign deserves to be evaluated and the citizens will make their decision”-said Veliaj.

The candidate of the right wing coalition, Halim Kosova voted in the unit 5. He said:
“These are not political elections, but they help the city’s management. The citizens know what will be the best for them”-said Kosova.

The independent candidate for Tirana, Gjergj Bojaxhi expressed that the expectancies are high.

The former prime minister, Sali Berisha was harsher in his message.
Berisha considered the elections as wounded, because of the incriminated people the majority has proposed.

Mr. Berisha invited the citizens to vote and not to allow the selection of the incriminated.
