Rama: “Industrial development without touching nature”

The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, spoke on the natural resources development event initiated by the Ministry of Energy, and said that the government will not allow investments to destroy nature. Rama mentioned 113 power plant permits that according to him were allowed by the past government in protected areas and that have not respected the agreements.

The Prime Minister added that his cabinet will keep stimulating investments and increasing their capacity. He warned that a draft-law against environmental crimes will be sent soon to Parliament.

The Minister of Energy, Damian Gjiknuri, said that all agreements of businesses in protected areas have been monitored.

The Minister of Environment, Lefter Koka, said that the environmental care has been seen as an isolated process in years, but every tree that has been cut will be replaced.
