The European Union Ambassador to Albania, Sofia Moreira de Sousa, has handed Prime Minister Edi Rama the European Commission’s progress report on Albania, a document that assesses the country’s progress in the European integration process and sets out the challenges that remain ahead.
The report was also delivered this Thursday to President Bajram Begaj, who during the meeting described it as evidence of Albania’s progress on the path toward membership of the European Union.
Begaj reaffirmed Albania’s commitment to concluding accession negotiations by 2027 and its goal of becoming part of the EU by 2030.
The discussions also focused on justice reform, strengthening the rule of law, the fight against corruption and organized crime, and guaranteeing media freedom.
