Ambassador inaugurates Kuwait-funded center for autistic

The Ambassador to Albania has inaugurated the Kuwaiti-financed "Kuwait Center for Autism and Child Growth" in the capital Tirana.
The nation's first lady, Maya Ivanov, diplomats, officials, representatives of international organizations and staff of the Kuwaiti embassy attended the inaugural ceremony. Ambassador Najib Al-Bader said during the gathering that the event coincided with the World Autism Awareness Day (April 2), calling for greater focus on the plight of the autistic, with aim of "securing a dignified life" for this segment of people.
He praised Dr. Liri Berisha, President of the Albanian Children Foundation, for her relentless efforts designed to enhance voluntary work, in general, in the country, and promote public awareness of autism, as well as her efforts to aid these special cases.
Establishment of this center depicts the close ties bonding Kuwait with Albania, he said, affirming Kuwait's general approach to aid the needy and promote basic values such as tolerance and peace globally.
The center is the second of this kind to be built with Kuwaiti contributions in the country. (end) rk
