Embassy of Japan ceremony of emergency relief goods to Albania.

The Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Albania (resident in Rome) together with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), will organize a hand-over ceremony of emergency relief goods to Albania.

From Japanese side, Mr.Hideo Fukushima, Deputy Chief of the Mission and Minister to the Embassy of Japan, and Mr. Tomoyuki Tatsumi, JICA Balkan Office, will attend the ceremony and Albanian side will be represented by Mr. Shemsi Prenci, General Director of Department of Civil Emergencies, Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The Government of Japan decided to provide emergency relief goods worth six million yen to the Republic of Albania, through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in response to the request from the Government of the Republic of Albania following serious damage from the floods in the country. 
The relief package consists of 510 pieces of blankets and 510 pieces of sleeping pads from which the affected people will benefit.
The Government of Japan wishes the early recovery of the area and the provided assistance will serve the citizens suffering from the natural disaster.
JICA is agency of the Government of Japan responsible for implementation of Official Development Assistance (ODA) through programs of soft loans, grant aid and technical cooperation. So far in the Republic of Albania, JICA has extended various projects in the fields of agriculture, infrastructure development, medical care, education and the environment.
