Minister Bushati attends BSEC Ministerial

Today, Minister Bushati attended the 31st meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of member countries of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) which was held in Thessaloniki, Greece.
 
At this meeting, participants analyzed the latest developments in the Black Sea region and the main developments occurring during the six-month presidency of Greece in this regional organization.
 
In his speech, Minister Bushati underlined Albania’s maximum engagement to regional cooperation in all relevant areas. "The simultaneous exercise of two presidencies in regional initiatives, respectively the SEECP and the A5, as well as the conclusion of the AII presidency a few months ago are clear indications of the regional commitment of Albania."- Minister Bushati stated.
 
This meeting follows the meeting held in New York and serves the strengthening of the organization and the regional geo-strategic dimension as well as the promotion of joint infrastructural projects.
 
In this context, Minister Bushati stated that "it is important that the BSEC increases the effectiveness and cooperation with other bodies and the EU should be a natural partner of the BSEC. The recent establishment of the Project Management Unit at the Organization will serve the realization of joint projects that will bring member states closer to each other ".

At the end of this activity, several resolutions were adopted, which are mainly concerned with the strengthening of project-oriented activities, the increase of efficiency and effectiveness in the organization as well as the improvement of relations between the BSEC and other related bodies, such as the BSTDB, PABSEC and the ICBSS.
 
During the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of member countries of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC), Minister Bushati held meetings with counterparts of BSEC member states and with the President of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB).
 
The meeting concluded with Moldova taking over the presidency of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC).
