Protests against the government of Edi Rama continued this Sunday afternoon in Tirana, on the 162nd day. Students, young people and citizens gathered again in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, as part of the daily rallies against the government. The protest began around 6:30 p.m.
Participants continue to insist on their demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, declaring that they will not back down from their position until he leaves office. Alongside opposition to the current government, another message conveyed by the protesters is their rejection of the old political class, placing Edi Rama and Sali Berisha on the same level.
The students’ stance also remains a focus of the protest; they have refused the Prime Minister’s repeated calls for dialogue. They have made clear that they will not agree to sit down for talks with Rama, arguing that there can be no dialogue with a prime minister against whom they have corruption allegations and who, according to them, has used police to carry out violence against young people during the protests. /BW/
