During a conversation with followers on social media, Sali Berisha says that during the protests of these 4 days, more gas has been used than in all the protests organized over the past 30 years combined.
“Large amounts of gas were thrown, ordered by Edi Rama. Expired gas with toxic and negative effects was used. Huge amounts of gas were taken from the army. During these days of protest, more gas has been thrown than in 30 years of protests combined,” Berisha stressed. Comparing the protests of these days with those of 1990, Berisha said that at that time there were no scenes like these, according to him with cracked skulls and broken bones.
“Never before has such savagery against protesters been witnessed on the streets of Tirana. I was a witness to the protest of 9 December 1990, against which the state police, the guard and the thugs acted with great savagery. I followed the wounded on that battlefield. I had not seen more horrific scenes. But the scenes we are seeing today surpass those of 1990. Back then there were no broken bones, with kicks landing on the body of the protester. There were no scenes like these”.
While warning Prime Minister Edi Rama that there will be no rat hole for him to hide in if he does not resign, Berisha invited businesspeople to “use the power of their business against the government.” “I invite every citizen, every businessman, to use the power of his business against this government. If they lower their shutters, that means they are in protest”, Berisha said, among other things.
