Hours after a protest in front of the Ministry of Education, demonstrators began marching toward the Prime Minister’s Office. The gathering, which included students as well as militants and deputies of the Democratic Party, was accompanied by tensions and heavy clashes with police.
During the protest, some demonstrators threw stones and hard objects at officers, while the State Police responded by using two water cannon trucks to disperse the crowd. The situation escalated further with the burning of waste bins and the pulling up of pavement stones on Durrësi Street.
The protest also featured calls against politics and its representatives. Some protesters directed chants at the Democratic Party with the slogan: “Democratic Party, how were you sold all these years?”, while others chanted: “Rama to prison, Berisha to prison.”
