November 29 was mentioned on the program ”Koha Jonë-Debat” as a symbolic date for the removal of the “Rama 4” government. In the debate moderated by Nikoll Lesi, with guests Luçiana Kokaj and Dritan Goxhaj on Wednesday evening, the discussion focused on the students’ demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, their role, and the possibility of forming a transitional government.
Dritan Goxhaj was firm in his position on dialogue with the prime minister. ”There is no dialogue with this person. We will not step back”, Goxhaj stated during the program. He argued that the protest should not aim merely at replacing one political force with another, but at changing the system and creating new political alternatives. According to him, the prime minister’s resignation and an apolitical transitional government would open the way for a new political process.
For her part, Luçiana Kokaj stressed that decision-making should belong to the students and protesters, not to individuals who claim to speak on their behalf. ”It is the citizens of the square, it is the students who will give direction to everything”,-Kokaj said.
She also emphasized that she wants an Albania where young people can live with dignity without being forced to emigrate. ”As Luçiana, I absolutely want Albania to change, and I absolutely want to be able to raise my son near his own grandparents and near his own cousins in his own country”,– she stated.
